I decided pretty early on that I wanted to use the middle name "Mae". In Midway, Georgia there is a restaurant called Ida mae's & Joe's. I have many memories of going there with my dad. Something about the name "Mae" that I just love! & not that this has anything to do with it... but my mom was born in May, B's dad was born in May, and B & I were married in May.. so - May is pretty special! {.. and if we are getting technical.. B & I both have "M" middle initials! }
Now, on to her official first name! Addison!!! Sometime ago I heard a song that I just loved - Hope Now by Addison Road. I really liked that name Addison and always thought about using it one day. Brent really liked the name - and when we polled our family members almost 100% loved Addison over Caroline! Something about Addie Mae is so sweet and after much thought - we decided that would be our little girl's name!
Now, on to her bedding!
I ordered about 20 bedding swatches from Restoration Hardware and babybedding.com. This poppy swatch below had me from the start! I never really use color - always just tan, gray.. and white! But this one looked so happy and would be super easy to work with! Basically any color could work around it - and I love that!
Brent made the decision that we wouldn't be using a bumper - everyone has an opinion about this.. basically do your own research. 1,000's of babies have had bumpers and nothing ever went wrong.. but for us - its just not worth the risk. ... even though - bumpers sure do pull the bedding look together..
This lovely fabric below will be our crib skirt!
This pale pink will be the sheets!
And, this gives you an idea of how the two look together. I've ordered the skirt to be ruffled - and I love how sweet it looks! Babybedding.com has a wonderful section on the website that lets you customize the bedding. You can choose from hundreds of fabrics - its magical!
Below is Addie Mae's quilt - it is much softer pale pink in person - but you can see how great it goes with the Poppy fabric. She'll have her monogram on the bottom corner. I can't wait to see how it all comes together.
These colors look great next to the glider fabric that we picked and I couldn't be more excited about how calm - but happy her room is going to be!
{ this is our nursery - but when the previous owners had it set up. The room is 11x11 - so not very big.. the walls are not this dark in person. }

Beautiful name. And that nursery is so pretty. Love it.

I'm so excited for this name! Long before I knew I would be Mrs. Addison, I loved the name Addison for a girl. Clearly now that would be somewhat awkward for my daughter. And I especially love how her middle name has a special meaning for you. It's simply wonderful!
