25 weeks!!!

Happy Monday!!
... above.. a real baby bump..
below.. a beer baby bump!

How Far Along? 25 weeks!!

Maternity Clothes? So.. I went to Burlington Coat Factory / Baby Depot - basically because I was bored and hadn't really looked in Baby Depot much.. so I thought I'd walk around. Yes, I had my mace and was prepared to spray some thug if they tried to talk to me. Yall, have you ever been to a Burlington?! I found SO MANY great maternity jeans!!! I bought some adorable maternity shorts - which could be confused with my last season JCrew shorts!! They are great and were $10! I also bought 2 pair of maternity jeans, although I think I'm taking 1 pair back... we'll see. The pair that I have on in today's pictures cost $14.99 - and are one of my favorites! They are really dark skinny's which look EXACTLY like JBrand skinny's! $14.99 friends. You have to dig, but I swear they have some good stuff!!!!

Weight Gain? 17lbs. I freaked out to my doctor and she swears that I'm on track - and they 100 ounces of water that I drink a day has contributed to some weight gain. I put on some self-tanner on Saturday, and thankfully that made me feel 5lbs lighter :) Love how that works.

Stretch Marks? Nope! Double-timing it with the mama butter and following up with some palmer's mama bee oil

Gender? A happy baby girl!

Sleep? Still pretty good... when I can find room between the dog, Brent, and the snoogle.

Food Cravings? nothing really... still with the cereal..

What I Miss? I'm not missing anything really!!! Maybe $$ :) Little miss is costing an arm and a leg!

Symptoms? So - last night I may have over-ate at The Palm.. I got in bed and literally had tears from how bad my stomach hurt. I came super close to calling our after-hours doctor line to see if they thought I should go to the ER. Eventually, with B rubbing my head, I somehow fell asleep and woke up this morning feeling ok. Little baby is moving around today so, I guess she made it through ok! I've been so so worried about her in there every since that drama 2 weeks ago. I know I shouldn't. & on another note.. almost everyone at my office either HAD, HAS, or is close to someone who had that stomach virus that is going around. ... awesome, please stay away from the pregnant girl. That's just what I need!

Best Moment of the Week? Feeling baby girl move so much!! Going to the doctor on Tuesday and her saying everything looks great!! Passing my Glucose Test!! Getting a negative on the Fetal fibronectin test (it basically checks to see if you are likely to go into early labor within the next 2 weeks..)... FINDING OUT THAT OUR GLIDER WILL ARRIVE 3 weeks EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On Tuesday we went to see Ron White - it was the BEST show!!!
I was like a little girl on Christmas when he came out on stage!! Totally starstruck!
Him! Him! ... talking about Rob White, not B :)
I hope you guys have a great week!!!

Nursery Art!

Our bedding is starting to arrive and furniture will be here by April 10th -
which means I need to get busy figuring out the rest of our nursery!

I don't think I'll be able to commit to anything for the walls until I get her light fixture, rug, crib, dresser, and glider in the room.. I'm visual!

But - until then, I'm doing some looking online - so far I've really focused on etsy and have just a few things pinned on Pinterest.

{ always something easy to do.. gallery type }

{ obsessed with this.. }

{ another solid choice }

{ decals.. really inexpensive and sweet }

{ live for this.. I'm about 99% sure I could make something exactly the same.. I love how my last board turned out. I would use a bible verse.. love this idea. }

{ and then.. the $$$. I LOVE this etsy shop - she has the sweetest stuff! I think I would do a rather large canvas over Addie Mae's crib... leaving the rest of the room semi-untouched, with maybe a few gallery frames - but leaving the main focus to this canvas. }

{ these letters are so so sweet! watercolors! }

{ if I did a few gallery frames over her crib I believe I would fill them with watercolors like these. or maybe even have someone make me 2 larger sized ones and do 2 huge frames? }

{ I like this a lot - and I believe I could *try* to make something similar.. I would sketch a Charleston street.. I do like how this would bring some modern to the room.. since her bedding is so sweet and floral.. }

{ another sweet watercolor }

{ and for fun... this lady paints your pets! HOW CUTE!!!! }

{ and then we have more decals.. }

Sorry I just overloaded you with about 87 pictures!!! You can tell I'm overwhelmed with this choice!!! Hopefully once the basics are in the room - it will be more clear to me what I want!

Happy Wednesday yall! Friday can't come soon enough!

We had the best date night last night but I'm paying for it today!!! We went to see Ron White at the Grand Ole Opry last night and it was insane amazing. We have loved him forever and it was SO cool to see him in person!

Week 23

{ Valentine's Day!! }

I want to thank everyone for the prayers last week! We had a few really scary days and it was so great knowing so many people were thinking about us.

How Far Along? 23 weeks!!! (doing this after the fact since I missed last week!)

Maternity Clothes? None new to report!!

Weight Gain? 14 pounds!

Stretch Marks? Nope!

Gender? Baby girl!!!

Sleep? Not as much as I'd like.. I can't get comfortable.. and I wake up with puffy eyes!

Food Cravings? powdered donuts & bbq lays!
What I Miss? I missed getting out to run errands and go shopping!! Missing work is wonderful - but if you can't get out to do stuff it kinda takes the fun out of it! I was just thankful that I could lay around and make sure baby girl was calm and things were ok inside!

Symptoms? Well, a rundown of what happened Thursday (2/10).. I had a normal day.. no crazy lifting or anything.. I went to Marshalls on lunch and stopped by my house for a second before I was going to head back to work.. without getting graphic.. I had a ton of bleeding which you NEVER want to see while pregnant. I freaked out.. almost fainted and just thought - get yourself to the hospital. So, I got back in the car.. called my doctor (who is AMAZING) and they told me to come right in. I called Brent - freaking out of course - and he said he was on the way.. My doctor discovered that I was having contractions, which could have been from dehydration.. They did a few ultrasounds during the 3 hours that we were in the office and had me hooked up to the machine that monitors contractions.. The bleeding finally quit and I was free to go home. My doctor said that I tore my placenta, but she couldn't find it on the ultrasound. This entire time Addie Mae looked amazing on the screen - she moved the entire time and it made us feel SO MUCH BETTER to see that.
My doctor sent me home on strict bedrest and I had to go back to see her the following Monday. All looked good still - but she wanted me to take it easy for another week.. no driving, no walking the dog, no anything! If all stayed the same during the week I could return to work the following Monday - which is today :) Everything has been great and I'm so so thankful. Googling Placental Abruption is an awful thing to do - she advised me not to - but of course I did anyway. I spent hours on thebump.com message boards trying to read as much as I could about what was going on - SCARY STUFF.
I'm so glad that I have such a great doctors office who took the best care of Addie Mae and I - and from now on out I'm playing it SUPER safe.

Best Moment of the Week? Getting to see little miss a few extra times, even though it was under awful circumstances.. it was great to see her!!!

Week 24!!!

How Far Along? 24 weeks! 111 days to go! Baby is 1 ft 2 in and weighs about 1.5 lbs!!!

Maternity Clothes? Yesterday I went to buy some maternity skinny's.. I didn't find any that didn't make me look like a cow.. but I did find another pair of normal jeans on sale! I bought a top too - love A Pea in the Pod sale section!!! Ohhhh and just to keep it real.. unless I'm out in public I now sport full-back undies.. and they are sent from Heaven. I bought 5 new pair at Target this weekend and I'm in love! Being comfortable is worth looking like a granny!!

Weight Gain? 15 lbs!! eeeeekkkk its getting high quick!

Stretch Marks? Nope!

Gender? Baby girl!!! Addison Mae!

Sleep? Really good lately, I lay down and I'm out!! Not as uncomfortable as normal too!

Food Cravings? .. cereal.. and on Sunday I HAD to have a Strawberry Waffle from The Cheesecake Factory.. it couldn't be from anywhere else :)

What I Miss? this week I'm not really missing anything.. I'm just so thankful to have this little bean growing inside of me!

Symptoms? Since our scare last week I've been symptom free! I've played it SUPER safe and spent 8 days inside with no trips to the mall or errands. I've finally been released to go back to work, so here I am today!! I'm also finally drinking enough water.. my doctor recommended about 100 ounces a day.. so that's been a struggle, but I know its good for Addie Mae!

Best Moment of the Week? Feeling little miss kick and roll around!!! She's a busy body just like me and I love feeling her! Brent is getting used to feeling her too - at first it freaked him out but now he loves it!!!

Prayers

First of all, thank you so much for the sweet comments on Addie Mae's name and nursery! We are so excited about the progress and love her name!

Thursday while on my lunch break I had a pretty major scare, and had to rush to my doctors office. After hours of monitoring contractions, I was allowed to go home. Addie Mae seemed to be unaffected and doing awesome, thank God for that. I'm ok too, scared.. But ok. I'm on bed rest at least until my follow-up appointment on Monday. Hopefully, nothing changed for the worse and I'll be able to return to light work and no play! Without getting into too much detail, my doctor thinks I have placental abruption.. Which is the last thing you want at 23 weeks.

I'm going to stay off my feet, pray like I've never prayed before, and let my saint of a husband take care of me and baby.

I appreciate any thoughts and prayers more than you could know.

Addison Mae

Hi friends!!

After much debate - we've finally picked a name for our baby girl!!!

Brent really left this one up to me - he did have veto power, but thankfully - he liked everything that I liked! For as long as I can remember I wanted to use the name Caroline. I loooooove Caroline! Having been born in South Carolina, it just reminds me of everything southern.

I decided pretty early on that I wanted to use the middle name "Mae". In Midway, Georgia there is a restaurant called Ida mae's & Joe's. I have many memories of going there with my dad. Something about the name "Mae" that I just love! & not that this has anything to do with it... but my mom was born in May, B's dad was born in May, and B & I were married in May.. so - May is pretty special! {.. and if we are getting technical.. B & I both have "M" middle initials! }
Now, on to her official first name! Addison!!! Sometime ago I heard a song that I just loved - Hope Now by Addison Road. I really liked that name Addison and always thought about using it one day. Brent really liked the name - and when we polled our family members almost 100% loved Addison over Caroline! Something about Addie Mae is so sweet and after much thought - we decided that would be our little girl's name!

And.. of course I had to see how the monogram looked - love it!!!

Now, on to her bedding!
I ordered about 20 bedding swatches from Restoration Hardware and babybedding.com. This poppy swatch below had me from the start! I never really use color - always just tan, gray.. and white! But this one looked so happy and would be super easy to work with! Basically any color could work around it - and I love that!
Brent made the decision that we wouldn't be using a bumper - everyone has an opinion about this.. basically do your own research. 1,000's of babies have had bumpers and nothing ever went wrong.. but for us - its just not worth the risk. ... even though - bumpers sure do pull the bedding look together..

This lovely fabric below will be our crib skirt!

This pale pink will be the sheets!

And, this gives you an idea of how the two look together. I've ordered the skirt to be ruffled - and I love how sweet it looks! Babybedding.com has a wonderful section on the website that lets you customize the bedding. You can choose from hundreds of fabrics - its magical!

Below is Addie Mae's quilt - it is much softer pale pink in person - but you can see how great it goes with the Poppy fabric. She'll have her monogram on the bottom corner. I can't wait to see how it all comes together.

These colors look great next to the glider fabric that we picked and I couldn't be more excited about how calm - but happy her room is going to be!

{ this is our nursery - but when the previous owners had it set up. The room is 11x11 - so not very big.. the walls are not this dark in person. }

I'm ordering her chandelier and rug in the next few weeks - and when those come in I'll decide if we need to paint or not. The room is a tad dark.. its a mocha color - but with a new light fixture, ivory drapes and ivory rug - I think it will look stunning. We'll see! Paint is easy!

Week 22

{ no words.. I don't like the way my bottom half looks in this dress.. keeping it real on the blog }

{ better with the belt.. but then my upper half towers over the lower half - #DDboobsproblems.. likely EE by now... }

How Far Along? 22 weeks.. 3 days with 123 days to go! Baby is about 11 1/2 inches and weighs just over a pound!

Maternity Clothes? None new to report, sad! Although.. I'm thinking of buying a 2nd pair of maternity jeans this weekend. Mine are for heels and I'd like a pair for flats. Also.. going to Francesca's this weekend to find a dress for Valentine's Day! I need to try to spray tan these legs and remind Brent that I still know how to be cute!!

Weight Gain? 13 lbs .. which I am really really having an issue with. I know my stomach is getting bigger, but why are my hips? I swear everything is just thicker in general.. it isn't fun.

Stretch Marks? Nope!

Gender? Baby girl!!!

Sleep? So far a little better.. just depends on the day!
Food Cravings? Again with the cereal - and all sugar cereal too, go figure! Nothing really new or unusual - well, veggie hot dogs.. I'm crazy for a grilled veggie hot dog.. onions, relish, mustard, ketchup.. yes please. What I Miss? Red wine, still. I had a tiny sip on Sunday, it was glorious.
Symptoms? Growing belly... kicking... get this - I'm way less emotional lately, though Brent would say I'm still batshit crazy. Ohhhh and heartburn - I've never had it in my life.. so for days I kept saying "why does my stomach feel like it is going to stretch open?"... come to find out - that was heartburn.. it doesn't feel nice at all! I've been taking some medicine and feel much better!
Best Moment of the Week? Ordering little miss's furniture & glider - and finally today - ordering her bedding!!! I love love love the choices that I've made so far!

She has a bed!

So, this weekend was super successful!!

Thanks to our generous parents - our sweet baby girl now has a place to sleep!

On Saturday we went for one last look at nursery furniture. USA Baby in Franklin had the most selection - and most of the furniture lines had higher ratings in Baby Bargains than Restoration Hardware or Pottery Barn Kids! I loved several things at Restoration - but couldn't see spending $2,000+!! Pottery Barn Kids really didn't have anything that I loved, the whites were usually always a weird color.. and the shipping charges are disgusting.

USA Baby had free shipping, huge plus!

We decided to go with the Bonavita Peyton set in white! I had a very tough time choosing between white and espresso - but since we are having a girl, I decided on white! I'm still nervous about it, but everything I see for a girls room has white furniture. We should have everything in 6-8 weeks!!!

Next up, the glider! I decided on a Little Castle Glider.

I loved that I could choose from so many designer fabrics!! I picked this Paisley Place, below. The color is more lime green in person, but a very pale lime. It is truly stunning and I'm so happy with it! I never ever go with a wild card - I always go with ivory linen.. or tan linen.. never anything fun. I can not wait to see this chair fully upholstered!!!

I decided against an ottoman.. we debated for days about this one. In the end - plenty of people have gotten along just fine without an ottoman. In our case the ottoman was going to cost half as much as the chair... and we already have a small room - so any saved space will help. If I need a foot stool down the road.. I can always get one. Our chair should arrive no later than April 10th - which is awesome! Mom will be able to see it when she comes for my Baby Shower!

We also were able to register at Babies R Us on Saturday! That was scary and fun!! I thought that I was super prepared with all of my lists - notes.. and reviews. Nope! We got into the 1st isle, Pacifiers... and freaked out! Who needs 1,000 choices on pacifiers?

We survived and I feel like we made some great choices!! I've followed up with reviews online today and made a few adjustments.. as far as adding some items to an amazon.com baby registry, in case anyone looks there.

Lastly we registered at Pottery Barn Kids - I didn't exactly want to.. since I'd rather people buy us useful items from Babies R Us - and not soft cute blankets.. but I know people do as they wish and I'd rather them know the items that I like at PBK.

Exciting exciting stuff! Baby P is almost all taken care of! I believe I know which light fixture I want to order... bedding is pretty well decided.. now we have the fun stuff!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Has anyone else been laughing at this all week?
